A crane operator who took a 3.5-story home down with him from a construction site in a residential construction crane crashed into the front of a building on Thursday, officials said.
The owner of the home was injured and is in serious condition, but his property has not been destroyed, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
The home is in the 2200 block of L.A. Avenue in Ventura.
The home was built by Kinsley Construction Inc., according to a statement from the company.
The crane operator was working on the home when he lost control of the crane and the home fell into the backyard, said the company, which is based in San Diego.
Kinsley construction officials did not respond to messages seeking comment.
