An emergency crane was used in a construction crane accident in Los Angeles County that caused a fire in the parking lot of the World Trade Center site, authorities said.
The crane, weighing 3,500 pounds, was used on Friday morning to lift the building in front of the South Tower, according to a news release.
The incident happened at approximately 6:10 a.m. on Friday near a commercial parking lot on the southwest corner of Second and Union streets, authorities told CBS2.
The tower is located just a few blocks from the World Center complex, the building that housed the World Financial Center when it was built in 1989.
