The Brooklyn Bridge is getting some serious attention after the New York Times revealed the project will cost $8.6 billion.
And that includes the construction of an eight-foot-tall concrete-covered “bridge over the Hudson.”
It’s a big deal.
The $8 billion is the most expensive bridge in the world, and it’s a monumental undertaking.
But the Brooklyn Bridge, and the bridge itself, is not the only new project on the horizon.
There are three more projects that could potentially cost upwards of $15 billion.
And they’re all connected.
The Times article makes clear that the construction will not only include the construction and reconstruction of a bridge over the Brooklyn River, but also a $1.8 billion, three-lane elevated freeway.
The highway is expected to be completed by the year 2020.
The bridge is slated to be built over a site called the Hudson Yards, where a group of wealthy Manhattan real estate developers will build their own high-speed rail network.
While the two projects have many similarities, the bridge and the highway have much more in common.
The New York Post wrote in 2016 that the two bridges will be connected by a series of new tunnels that will stretch up to the Brooklyn waterfront.
The Post said the tunnels would allow traffic to move “at speeds up to 50 mph” and will also be able to carry more than 1 million vehicles a day.
The Times article said that in the near future, “the highway will connect with the Brooklyn Ferry Terminal, a $3.3 billion elevated ferry terminal that will serve as a hub for the new bridge.

The new bridge will also connect to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and the Manhattan Battery Tunnel.”

And in 2019, a “new” tunnel is expected between Manhattan and Staten Island.
According to a report by The Times, the Brooklyn Tunnel project will be completed in 2019 and will allow for a 1.3 mile long tunnel that will carry over 2.6 million vehicles per day.
This will allow the Brooklyn Bridges to be able handle more than 2 million vehicles annually, and will help bridge traffic congestion.
In 2019, the New Jersey Transit system is scheduled to open the first phase of its tunnel project between Newark and Hoboken.
This project will also see the construction at the Brooklyn Terminal, which will see construction of a tunnel that runs under the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, connect with a tunnel under the Hudson River, and link to a tunnel between Newark Liberty Airport and the Brooklyn Marine Terminal.
In 2018, the Long Island Sound Tunnel is slated for completion.
It will have a capacity of 7.5 million vehicles, and a tunnel will be able carry up to 2.3 million vehicles.
The Brooklyn Bridge project will see the building of the bridge on Staten Island and then it will link up with the Queens waterfront project.
In 2018 it was reported that construction of the Brooklyn bridge will cost around $10 billion.
The $8,000 bridge will be built to span the Brooklyn Waterway, and cost around half that amount.

There’s a tunnel beneath the waterway in Staten Island that will eventually lead to the new Staten Island Bridge.
Construction will start this fall and the tunnel is due to be finished by the end of 2021.

New York City has been planning for the Brooklyn-Queens bridge since the mid-1990s.
Last October, the mayor announced that construction would begin this year, and in January 2019, it was announced that the bridge would open in 2021.
The Brooklyn Island tunnel was originally supposed to open in 2019 but was delayed.
As of 2020, the Manhattan Bridge Tunnel project was slated to open this fall, but that was delayed and it is now scheduled to be open in 2020.
All of these projects will eventually connect with one another.
